New High-Tech Industrial Park Officially Opens in Chongqing

Recently a ceremony was held to mark the official opening of the West Yongwei Electronics Industrial Park, which is located in the Chinese city of Chongqing. The park will focus on areas such as integrated circuits, software and information services, communication devices, and digital equipment. The Chongqing government hopes to attract US$10 billion in investments by 2010, and it expects the industrial park to reach a shipment value of about US$12.5 billion by that time.
